Pre-Op / Post-Op Instructions


Pre-Op Instuctions:
  • No food after midnight the night before surgery, water is fine.
  • Pets must be here before 8:00 am.
  • We ask that you PLEASE leave them in the car while you come through the check in process.
  • The technician will ask you a few questions than have you bring them in.
  • We are cash only at the time of drop off
  • Your pets will go home promptly at 7:30 the next morning.


Post-Op Instructions:
  • No running, jumping or rough-housing, they must be kept confined for the next 7-10 days.
  • All dog must be WALKED ON A LEASH, DO NOT allow them to run freely for 7-10 days.
  • There are no sutures to remove, they are internal and absorbable.
    The outer part of the skin is closed with a skin glue. This will break down in water.
  • NO SWIMMING OR BATHS for 10 days.Keep your pet from licking, you can use one of the following methods:
    • Bitter Orange ($6)
    • an E-Collar
    • for the girls, a t-shirt covering the abdominal works well.
    • for the boys, a pair of boys boxers turned upside down to accomodate the tail.
  • Cats should be confined to a small area in one room for a week if possible.
  • We encorage everyone to have a relationship with a regular daytime veterinarian.
  • Any problems DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE SURGERY will be seen here for free.
  • All pets recieve a small tattoo on their abdomen indicating that they have been spayed/neutered,
